5 Ways to Take Care of your LoveTay Candles

Maintaining your LoveTay candles can be a little challenging if you don't know how to properly care for your candle. Ever had a candle that tunnels? Or maybe a candle that doesn't last long? Don't worry we have you covered!

To ensure a longer-lasting, safer, and more enjoyable experience here are five tips to help you keep your LoveTay candle in a pristine condition:

1. It is EXTREMELY important that you trim your wick!!! Before lighting your LoveTay candle each time, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). This helps prevent excessive smoking and ensures a clean, even burn. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning and dripping.
   

2. Make sure you burn your LoveTay Candle properly. Allow your LoveTay Candle to burn for a minimum of 1 hour on it's first burn until you can see the wax melting to the edges of the container. Doing this prevents tunneling, where the wax only melts in the center, leaving wax along the sides. Subsequently, it is important to not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating and to maximize the lifespan of your candle.
   

3. You've got to keep it clean: After extinguishing the flame, ensure no debris is in the wax. If there are any leftover wax pieces in the wax be sure to safely remove them before re-burning your candle. You can use a wick dipper or a spoon to gently push the wick back into the melted wax pool. This prevents the wick from drifting off-center and causing uneven burning or accidental flare-ups.
   

4. Please store your LoveTay Candle properly: When not in use, store your LoveTay candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. This helps maintain the candle's scent and prevents it from melting or warping, especially during warmer months. When burning, please do not place the candle in any containers or on top of any objects as heat can get trapped in the jar and cause overheating issues.
   

5. Ensure to extinguish safely: Always extinguish your LoveTay candle using a snuffer or gently blowing it out. Avoid blowing directly onto the candle to prevent hot wax from splattering. Additionally, ensure the wick is centered and upright before leaving the candle unattended. Make sure to also cease burning the candle when the wax has reached 2 cm from the bottom!
